Six Week Course

Secondary School Age

This course is suitable for beginners between the ages of 11 and 17 and is structured so that each week focuses on a different technique

Allowing more time for creative experimentation, not only with form but with decorative finishes and glazing, this six week course will give your child the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of working with clay

These classes cater for a maximum of 4 students. They will learn various hand-building techniques, and how to throw on the potter’s wheel. Each week will be project led, but they will be encouraged to develop upon the examples given and techniques taught to explore their own personal creativity and ideas

They will have access to a selection of dipping glazes and also to the extensive range of studio brush-on glazes. Your child will not be limited to the amount of pieces they choose to make and fire during this course, but there will be an additional charge of £4 per kilo of clay fired (as an example, an average sized mug might cost approximately £1)

Please feel free to supply an apron for your child, although aprons can be provided. Please ensure they wear old clothes and shoes

A welcome email will be sent with further information ahead of the course

I look forward to welcoming your potter to the studio!

Please note that I hold a valid DBS certificate

Pottery lessons are a fun way to introduce yourself and others to clay and make wonderful gift experiences. Gift vouchers are available
